Tiny Instruments

The Ensemble

Below is a group of people who collectively support the mission of Tiny Instruments through their expertise, which itself takes on a flavour of what they have personally experienced. In other words, the know-how of each listed person is mutually reinforcing in its capacity to support anyone wishing to cultivate a sense of freedom, both in themselves and in their relationships with others.

I am Sri Lankan by recent ancestry, Scottish by birth and Malaysian by upbringing. As a young adult, due to education and then employment, I moved from location to location before deciding to grow roots in Munich, Germany. I feel at home here. My education includes a Master of Engineering from the University of Nottingham and a Master of Science from the University of Edinburgh. My employment saw me first navigating corporate London and then being actively involved with grassroots development initiatives in Zimbabwe and the island of Borneo.

Curiously, despite the education that enriched my mind, and the employment that opened my eyes to the world – both of which I am thankful for – I found my sense of existence somewhat constrained and devoid of passion. Wishing to feel free and to be full of passion, I deepened my practice of Yoga – of which I had long been a student – and took calculated steps to earn a living by becoming a manual therapist trained in the method of Structural Integration. Earning my living in this way, I relished having to answer to no one but myself. I felt free.

Alas, that sense of freedom came with an unsettling amount of sweat, tears and loneliness. Even so, those were necessary – for it was as I resolutely wiped my sweat and gently dabbed my tears while forming a firm friendship with the depths of my being that the passion I wished for emerged. But it didn’t just emerge. It roared through my body in a way that required taming through cradling. Fortunately, having already established a friendship with my inner self, I was equipped to do just that. And as I cradled the passion within me, I became progressively more aware of the forces behind my very existence. Reflecting on this awareness within the context of my experiences to date, a vision arose. I decided to act on that vision. The consequence: Tiny Instruments.

More people will be soon be added to the list.
